Oh, come on, they aren't that bad. And spiral staircases are a bitch to draw for anybody. Have you ever looked up the Andre Loomis books? His perspective drawing stuff is some of the best I've seen, even if it applies to figures more than architecture.
The trick I'm just learning with perspective is to trust the mathematics of the line and not your eyes, at least to begin with when you're laying down the blocks. You might think a line can't possibly be so angled, but it'll look fine when it's done
